The data collected through this survey will serve two critical purposes:
Academic Research Update - The survey findings will be used to update a study on Hong Kong's outdoor education sector that was conducted 20 years ago. This updated research will be submitted for publication in the Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning, providing the field with an authoritative, data-driven assessment of how the sector has evolved over the past two decades.
Sector Report for Dissemination
- We will be synthesising the survey results into a comprehensive sector report, which we plan to widely disseminate around Autumn 2024. This report will offer a clear, evidence-based picture of the current state of outdoor education in Hong Kong - its strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
Research and dissemination like this are vitally important for strengthening our sector. By capturing objective data and sharing it broadly, we can:
Guide strategic planning and decision-making for organisations and policymakers
Elevate the profile and credibility of outdoor education among key stakeholders
Foster greater cross-collaboration and collective action within the field
